About Peter Manion
I attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated in 1994. I continued to work as an artist and travel through Europe in 1996. I became interested in stained glass window repair, construction and installation. This time helped me develop a deeper understanding of materials and process. I moved to Saint Louis in 1999 and I began to use my understanding of building and construction and started a small construction company that rehabbed and restored historic homes. For 10 years I worked on that career never believing that art would be back into my life. In 2010 I started back and since that time I have pushed to build my practice, my patience and most importantly my work. It has been a joy to do what I know I have always loved to do and to have this second chance makes it even more fantastic.

Artist Statement
My daily life is my art. It is the mundane, the extraordinary and the broken down moments that lie in between. Nothing is more significant than anything else and everything has its purpose. I experiment with materials and their applications. The risk and its reward keep me excited and therefore motivated.
