About Mandy Racine

Mandy Racine (born in Scotland, UK) graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree in 1988 from West Surrey College of Art & Design, Farnham, UK. She exhibited widely in the UK and enjoyed success as a book illustrator with over 7 books published. She was commissioned to produce artwork for SatelDoc television company for a documentary on the life of King Arthur, which was subsequently broadcast in the United States and Channel 4, UK.

After moving to Mallorca, Spain in 1999, she started work as a specialist interior painter for Gillian Kroll Decoration (2 years) before setting up in business for herself. She has since become established as not only a specialist in interior finishes, but also as a contemporary artist in her own right.

In 2011 she was commissioned by Swiss art dealers to produce drawings, paintings & prints of Alpine animals for the Swiss art market. These were subsequently exhibited & sold at various venues in Switzerland. In March 2014 she was interviewed for a culture programme for IB3 television in Mallorca about her artwork and filmed in her studio.

She enjoys working with a variety of materials & techniques and exhibits regularly. Working from her large studio/workshop, she’s able to combine interior projects with her own/commissioned artwork.

She specialises in drawing & painting the animal & human form and abstract pieces using mixed media – acrylic, plaster, collage, latex, varnish, charcoal etc. and enjoys experimenting with different textures & layers to portray movement through line & texture.
