Olympia as imagined for the 1960s, inspired by Manets famous painting with bananas standing in for all the elements in the original work.
This is a somewhat cheeky and tongue in cheek response to a masterpiece that I hope the viewer will forgive me for.
It is hand painted in acrylic on canvas. The image is built up from many layers of paint to achieve a completely flat & hard edged surface. As with all my work it takes several weeks to complete.
