About Dominique Joyeux
Born in Poitiers-France- in 1951, Dominique Joyeux has lived in many overseas countries, was trained in workshops in the West Indies, the South Pacific and Corsica before moving to the south of France. Psychotherapist at the service of autistic children, she feeds her imagination of painting and poetry. Professor of Letters, she pursues her artistic quest and accompanies each of her works with an explanatory text. She is inspired by the oceans and the mythology.
Colored spaces surrounded by a sculpted edge evoke microbiology and moving continents. Her research focuses on movement, the vibration of colors and sculpted spaces, the space she traces is open or closed, evoking both the birth of life and the outbirst towards universe in extension and acceleration-so eternal - which brings us back to the infinitely big and the infinitely small. Unexpected shapes resulting from a graphic search are revealed by glazes and underlined by an acrylic surround.
Silver Medal of the European Institute of Contemporary Arts 2016.
