About Pierre SALADIN
Originally from a small village in the south of France, I became interested in painting and drawing at a very early age. Inspired by my grandfather Mario Villani, draftsman and painter, and by both my parents, passionate about art, I have always been bathed in an atmosphere of creative freedom. I started with graffiti, then turned first to animated films and special effects before really dedicating myself to painting.
After the baccalaureate, I began my studies at the Atelier Preparatory at Ecole de Condé Paris. Then I join in the second year the School of ArtFx in Montpellier, specializing in GFX, where I deepen my knowledge of 3D and special effects. But, looking for more freedom and personal expression, I decide to enter the Fine Arts School of Montpellier. I am today an independent creator, dividing my work between painting, 3D, and the clothing brand I created as a self-entrepreneur: "Abandon Studios". All these experiences have allowed me, I think, to acquire a wide artistic palette, a relative independence of mind, and an opening on the techniques of painting and 3D.
I never stopped being a rebel in a sense. I draw inspiration from the world around me to paint it with irony and sarcasm, connected with a difficult early life experience. Human relationships are at the heart of my work. I paint what inspires me: affects that pass between people and things, sportsmen, musicians, friends. I now live and work in Toulon, in the south of France.
